Text Changes
Shock ships with a handful of built-in text strings — button labels, notices, and messages baked into the theme. The Text Changes area lets you rewrite these to match your brand’s voice or language, all from the dashboard, with no code required.
What you can change
Section titled “What you can change”From the theme settings panel under the Shock options, you can typically edit strings such as:
- Button labels like “Read more” or “Add to cart” helper text.
- The heading and message shown on the 404 (page not found) page.
- Small interface phrases such as search placeholders or “no results” messages.
Edit the fields for the strings you want to change and save. The new wording appears on the front end immediately.
When to use a translation tool instead
Section titled “When to use a translation tool instead”Text Changes is ideal for a few targeted edits. If you need to translate the theme (and its plugins) into another language in full — or run a multilingual site — use a dedicated translation plugin instead. We recommend Loco Translate, which reads the theme’s language files and lets you translate every string in one place, keeping your changes safe across updates.
For other theme-wide settings, see Display Options or Additional CSS / JS.
