Important Elementor Settings
A couple of quick adjustments make sure Shock and Elementor play nicely together. Once they’re in place, you’ll be able to edit every one of the theme’s custom post types with Elementor, and Elementor won’t load default styles that clash with the theme’s own design.
Enable the right post types and disable default styles
Section titled “Enable the right post types and disable default styles”-
Open Elementor settings.
From your WordPress panel, go to Elementor » Settings.
-
Check the post types.
On the General tab, in addition to Posts and Pages (already enabled), also enable Mega Menu, Portfolio, and Global Sections so you can build them with Elementor.
-
Disable default colors and fonts.
On the same screen, tick Disable Default Colors and Disable Default Fonts. This lets Shock’s own color scheme and typography take over instead of Elementor’s defaults.
-
Save your changes.
Click Save Changes.
Disable the Elementor Lightbox
Section titled “Disable the Elementor Lightbox”Elementor loads its own Lightbox styles by default. Because Shock already includes this feature, the Elementor version is usually redundant and best turned off.
-
Open Site Settings.
From any page or post in the Elementor editor, click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the widget panel, then go to Site Settings » Lightbox.
-
Turn off the lightbox.
Slide the switch to disable Elementor’s lightbox.
-
Save your changes.
Click the Update button at the bottom of the panel.
