Global Style

Nexgen ships with more than 2,000 theme settings across 15 modules — but you rarely need to touch most of them. Global Style is your starting point: it defines your site’s colors and typography in one place, and every element inherits those choices automatically.

Access it via Theme Settings » Global Style.

Why Global Style matters

Instead of setting a color or font on each button, heading, and link individually, you define it once here. Change your primary color and it updates everywhere it is used — across your header, footer, pages, and every Elementor widget.

Set the foundation first

These values become the defaults every Nexgen Elementor widget inherits. Configure Global Style before you build pages, and your whole site stays consistent with almost no extra effort. You can still override any individual widget later when you need an exception.

Global Style is organized into tabs. Each tab groups related settings so you can move through your site’s look logically — colors first, then body text, headings, and interactive elements.

Theme tab — your color palette

The Theme tab defines the core color palette the rest of your site draws from.

Background Colors	White, Light, Dark
Text Colors	White, Light, Dark
Alert Colors	Success, Warning, Danger

Note

Think of these as named slots rather than fixed colors. When a widget references the “Primary” color, updating Primary here restyles every element that uses it — no need to hunt through your pages.

Body tab — page background & paragraphs

The Body tab controls your default page background and the typography of body text.

Setting	What it controls
Section Background Color	The default background color behind your content sections.
Paragraph Typography	Font Type (Google Font or Custom Font), Family, Style, Size, Weight, and Line Height.

Responsive by design

Paragraph typography is set separately for desktop and mobile, so you can use comfortable, readable sizes on small screens without compromising your desktop layout.

Heading tab — H1 through H6

The Heading tab lets you style each heading level independently. For each of H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6 you can set:

Setting	What it controls
Color	The heading text color.
Typography	Full control: Font Type, Family, Style, Size, Weight, and Line Height — with separate desktop and mobile values.

Link tab

Define how text links look by default and how they respond to interaction.

Setting	What it controls
Text Color	The default color of links.
Text Hover Color	The color a link changes to on hover.

Button tab

Set the default appearance for buttons across your site.

Setting	What it controls
Background	The button’s background color.
Background Hover	The background color on hover.
Text Color	The button label color.

Field tab

Style form fields — inputs, text areas, and similar controls.

Setting	What it controls
Background	The field’s background color.
Background Hover	The background color when the field is focused or hovered.
Text Color	The color of text typed into the field.

Change once, applies site-wide. Consistency Because every Nexgen widget inherits these defaults, a well-configured Global Style keeps your entire website coherent and makes rebranding — or simply refining your look — a matter of minutes rather than hours.
