Install Leverage

Installing Leverage is a straightforward process, even if you have never installed a WordPress theme before. It comes down to two stages: downloading the theme from your Envato account, then uploading and activating it in WordPress.

Download the theme

Start by getting the installable theme file from ThemeForest.

1. Sign in to Envato. Open your web browser and go to ThemeForest. Click Sign In at the top-right corner and enter your username and password.

2. Open your Downloads. Hover over your username in the top-right corner and click Downloads from the dropdown menu.

3. Download the file. Find Leverage in the list and click the Download button next to it. Choose Installable WordPress file only to get the theme .zip, then save it somewhere you can easily find it.

Install and activate

With the theme .zip saved to your computer, you can upload it to WordPress.

1. Open your WordPress dashboard. Log in to your admin area, usually at yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

2. Add a new theme. Go to Appearance » Themes and click the Add New button at the top of the page, then click Upload Theme.

3. Upload the file. Click Choose File, select the Leverage theme .zip you downloaded, and click Install Now.

4. Activate Leverage. WordPress takes a few moments to upload and install the file. When you see the success message, click Activate to make Leverage your active theme.

Caution

If the upload fails with a message about file size or memory, your server limits may be too low. Review the Server Requirements and, if needed, ask your host to increase them.

What’s next

As soon as Leverage is activated, WordPress shows a notice recommending a set of plugins. These unlock the theme’s Elementor widgets and builder features, so install them next.
