Welcome to Shock — a creative, multipurpose Bootstrap 5 template. This guide gets you from your ThemeForest download to a live site. No professional webmaster skills required; with a good host and a little patience, anyone can publish Shock.
Shock ships with multiple home demos and a full set of inner pages. Before you start, browse the preview pages included in your download and pick the home layout and inner pages closest to the site you have in mind — popular starting points include Demo 9, Demo 8 and Demo 1.
Shock is an HTML template, so it helps to understand the three languages every web page is built from:
HTML
A markup language that tells web browsers how to structure the pages you visit. Learn HTML on MDN
CSS
The styling language that turns plain markup into great-looking pages. Learn CSS on MDN
JavaScript
A scripting language for adding interactive, dynamic features to a page. Learn JS on MDN
Download from ThemeForest.
Sign in to your Envato account, open your Downloads, and download Shock. The installable HTML
download gives you the template .zip.
Extract the files.
Unzip the package to a folder on your computer. Inside you’ll find the demo pages and the assets
folder — see File Structure for the full layout.
Open it in a code editor.
Edit the files with a proper editor such as Visual Studio Code.
Double-clicking a .html file opens it in your browser so you can preview as you go.
To publish your site on the internet, have these ready:
Web hosting
A hosting service to store your files and serve them to visitors. Choose one with reliable support.
A domain

An internet connection
To upload your files and manage your site.
An FTP client
Software that speaks FTP/SFTP/FTPS (such as FileZilla) to upload files to your host.
